Devoted Family · since 2018
Hi, I'm Crystal.
I'm a wife, a mom, and a Christ-follower who believes the most important discipleship happens at the kitchen table. Devoted Family is where our family keeps what works: the devotional we actually use, the stories our kids ask for again, and the hope I needed on the hard days. Nothing here comes from a family that has it all together. It comes from one that keeps showing up anyway.
Devoted Family started in 2018 as a conversation Manfred and I kept having with other parents: there is so much to teach our kids, where do we start? The answer became a 52-week devotional, and the devotional became an imprint.
The books
Devoted Family Character Discipleship walks through 52 biblical values, one a week, with a short reading and questions that work for little kids and teenagers at the same table. It was built for our own family first.
From Darkness to Light is the book I wish someone had handed me and the people around me when depression was part of our story. It is honest about the darkness, anchored in Scripture, and practical for the person walking through it and for the ones trying to help.
Devoted Family Stories are the picture books that match the devotional week for week, so the value you talked about at dinner is the story you read at bedtime. The series page has the first twelve.
Mommy On Mission
Mommy On Mission is the women's ministry of Devoted Family. It started as a women's Bible study and became a series of four 10-week studies, Basic Training, Advanced Individual Training, Deployment and Frontlines, that follow a soldier's path from enlistment to the front line. It is where I write to moms directly, speak at women's events, and keep a blog of short, honest notes from the field. Visit the ministry, or read my statement of faith first; I'd rather you know where I stand.
Teaching and speaking
I have been a professional keynote speaker since 2021. I love teaching moms' groups, women's events and church gatherings on motherhood as a mission, family discipleship, and walking through depression with faith. I don't charge to speak, and that includes my time to prepare, travel, and be there. I only ask that the church cover travel, lodging, and meals, and take up a support offering from the women. Details and a request form are on the speaking page.
The rest of what I make
Our home runs on checklists, and the meal planners, chore charts and budgets that earned a spot on our fridge are in my printable shop, AmberRose by Crystal on Etsy. That shop is its own thing on purpose; Devoted Family is for faith at home.
